2 Corinthians 12:9
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
To remain authentic, I must remember that I am just a “vapor in the wind”. I take no credit for what I produce here. It is because of the GRACE of God that I can go tap tap tap on my laptop and make spiritual stimulating sentences. Praise!
A few weeks ago, I preached about this same verse. It is my favorite verse in the bible because it makes me smile during hard times. This verse can scare you but can also bring joy. This verse can make you mourn and can make you dance. God was serious when He said “My ways are not your ways.” (Isaiah 55:8)
When we are going through trying times, it seems that we seek The Lord even more. Why? We seek The Lord because we are pushed to a point where our efforts are useless. Believe it or not, that is where the Lord wants us to be. He wants us to remember that we are POWERLESS, that we are….WEAK without Him.
I have experienced the most painful trial of my life over a year ago. I was pressed in so many areas that I thought I was going to be crushed underneath them. I was at a point where I realized my efforts were useless. That’s where The Lord wanted me to be so that His POWER can enter my life in full force. He had to get rid of ME to work IN me.
In order for us to learn a lesson, we have to experience pain. In order for us to witness Gods power, we have to be in a position where He can perform a miracle. All the stories I’ve read in the bible prove that this is how God works.
Paul was persecuted and wrote the majority of the New Testament. David committed adultery, repented, and wrote the majority of Psalms. Peter denied Christ 3 times and Jesus used Peter later on to strengthen his brothers and to be a pillar for Christ early church.
Now, this sounds very discouraging but Christ did not say that this walk is easy. If we want to experience Gods power first hand, we have to prepare ourselves to fight. If we want a true encounter with The Lord, we have to agree to His terms and conditions: Pain
Don’t you want to be able to preach the word through personal experience and not based on someone else’s testimony?
“The size of the fight is measured by the prize that will be won.” –Anthony Evans
My weakness, whether it be a trial or sin; God will use it to bestow His power in me. As much as Satan wants to defeat us, ultimately, God has the victory.
Therefore, I will boast about my weakness because in my weakness, I AM STRONG. (2 Corinthians 12:10)
